Toyota, a well-known Japanese auto brand has launched the all-new facelift version of its compact sedan, Platinum Etios taxi in order to increase the volumes from the highly competitive segment with a starting price of INR 6.43 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). By introducing the refreshed version of Platinum Etios sedan, the company is looking to proffer a much required boost to revive its sales in the country.
The details and other important information for the compact sedan was leaked online prior to its arrival in the market. Moreover,
the company has also launched the facelift version of Liva hatchback alongside Etios Taxi compact sedan with an introductory price of INR 5.94 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). Toyota cars recently launched the facelift version for the Brazilian market under the Christen name as Etios ‘Platinum’. The all-new Platinum Etios gets exterior changes as well as minor interior upgrades with no mechanical changes under the hood.
With the increasing demand for automatic transmissions in the domestic market, Toyota India is also looking to bring-in the automatic variant of the compact sedan.
Toyota Platinum Etios Facelift – Exterior
Having said that all-new Toyota Platinum Etios cabs facelift sedan comes with only cosmetic upgrades on the exterior front, the sedan seems to be more attractive compared to the previous model. At the front, the new 2016 Etios Platinum now gets more prominently designed V-shaped grille with black inserts and company insignia embedded in the centre. Moreover, the chrome accents, revised front bumper, wider air dams and all-new fog lamp housing also emphasize the overall appearance of the profile.
At the sides, the all-new Platinum Etios sedan comes with 15-inch alloy wheels and side skirts that derive the profile with much desired sporty look. At the rear, the all-new Etios cabs flaunts all-new rear spoiler as well as new rear bumper along with new tail lamps.
As the 2016 Toyota Platinum Etios Taxi facelift gets cosmetic upgrades the overall dimensions of the sedan remains the same as that of the outgoing model. The dimensions of the facelift Platinum Etios length stands at 4265mm with length, width of 1695mm, and height of 1510mm along with wheelbase of 2550mm.
Moreover, the all-new Toyota Platinum Etios is also offered in 7 exciting colours – Celestial Black, Classic Grey, Harmony Beige, New Pearl White, Symphony Silver, Vermilion Red and White.
